Announcement of SA Sports Awards 2015 – Chess Nomination

Below is the full text of the press release from CHESS SA regarding the SA Sports Awards  for 2015.

The 2015 SA Sports Awards nominees were announced at SABC Radio Park on Tuesday morning, 3rd November 2015 in Johannesburg.

CHESS SA and the Executive Board congratulate’s Waterkloof Hoerskool on their nomination in the category:

School Team of the Year – 2015.

Other nominees in this category are:
• Oakdale Agricultural High School,
• St John’s College.

We applaud Waterkloof Hoerskool on their achievement and consistent performance in chess over the years. Special note of congratulations goes to Ms. Judy-Marie Steenkamp, director of chess at Waterkloof Hoerskool and Mr. N. de Villiers, director of sport at Waterkloof Hoerskool for their dedication and commitment to chess at the school.

Also, a note of thanks to members of the Gauteng chess community who have worked tirelessly in the preparations and submission of the nomination.

The 10th annual awards will be held in Mangaung, Free State on 22 November 2015.
