Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Inge Marx was named the most improved youth player in chess for the year 2014/2015 at the South African Junior Chess Championships held in Cape Town. The young lady has come a long way in her chess. She improved a great deal over the  season and performed well in various chess events.

Inge participated in the Under 16 Olympiad Chess Championship in Hungary, December 2014. Soon thereafter she departed for Tunisia to participate in the African Youth Chess Championship. She was awarded the title: Woman’s Candidate Master (WCM) after she attained the third place.

Inge went to participate in the South African Closed Chess Championship in Pretoria in April 2015, finishing first as the Under 16 SA Champion.  Following that performance she was selected to represent South Africa at

Thereafter Inge took part in the Commonwealth Chess Championship in Delhi, India in June 2015 finishing twelfth.  Adding to her tournaments, Inge also played in the Under 16 World Olympiad Chess Championship in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in August and later in the World Youth Chess Championships in Halkidiki, Greece in October Inge made her presence felt at the African Youth Chess Championships in Tunisia where she finished third in the event.

Inge finished second in the South African Women’s Open Chess Championship in Cape Town.This stunning performance has earned her a qualification spot at the Senior Women’s Closed Chess Championship that was held in December whereby she finished sixth.
