ChessExcellence announces Summer Cup Chess Festival

Chess Excellence tourneyChess Players are in for a treat in South Africa this year end following the announcement of the Summer Cup Chess Festival by ChessExcellence. The ChessExcellence Summer Cup  chess festival shall include a FIDE open swiss and many side events for all players to play. The exact dates will be November 29th,30th and December 6th,7th. The two tournaments will be run on the Open Swiss system. The main event is a 7 round Swiss event run over 2 weekends. It is the only completely open FIDE event in Johannesburg. This will be very important for chess players as they will be able to gain important Rating points, depending on their performance of course. A massive R25,000+ prize pool has been guaranteed for each tournament.

Nicholas Van Der NatThese events are being run ChessExcellence is run by Nicholas Van Der Nat.  Nicholas, the founder of ChessExcellence, was Awarded FIDE Master and FIDE Trainer titles. He is a three time South African Senior Closed Champion and has represented South Africa on numerous occasions, More than 12 years coaching experience. ChessExcellence has been established to provide chess players of all playing strengths with quality training and opportunities and so enable them to improve their skill levels.

ChessExcellence further strives to provide it’s members, as well as players at large with opportunities to experience the benefits and enjoyment of Chess.

In addition to the above, ChessExcellence will strive to introduce and improve Chess in as many schools as possible. This initiative will not be limited to High and Primary Schools but will also include Nursery Schools and Crèches.

ChessExcellence is not affiliated or aligned to any union or association and is open to players of all strengths, from beginner to expert, irrespective of age or gender. ChessExcellence has been running chess tournaments for more than 5 years.
