Relaunching the website

This website, which was previously more of a personal chess blog, is being relaunched as AfricaChess.net for Chess in Africa. The main idea behind relaunching the cite is to let African Chess Players tell their own stories so that they might inspire the next generation.  The website will seek to capture the stories of current and previously active chess players in Africa. There is a great deal of chess talent in Africa.

There are many stories to tell about chess players in Africa. Who will remember that Robert Gwaze from Zimbabwe once won a Gold Medal at the Chess Olympiad ahead of Garry Kasparov. These are the stories we plan to tell and a whole lot more.

Bruce Mubayiwa

I am the founder and editor of Africa Chess Net. I have been playing chess for over 25 years and love writing about the game. Our goal is simple, to get more people playing chess in Africa! The game of chess is not only absorbing but a great deal of fun.
