Announcing the launch of the online #AfricaChess League on Lichess

Africa Chess is delighted to announce the launch of the #AfricaChess online chess league on Lichess. All the games will be played on the Lichess Platform.

Prize Fund
The winner of the tourney will get US$50

Entry Fee
Entry to the league is free.

Time Control
The time control is 3+2 and teams will play a double round against each other. After the first game they will switch colours.

Day of Play
A day and time of the week will be decided to play the league game.

Duration of League
The league will run for at least 2 months.

Make up of team
A team will have 4 players. A team can have both men and women

Number of Teams
A country may enter up to 4 teams of 4 players to participate in the event.

Naming of Teams
The players will represent their country but tagged as Angola A, Angola B etc.

Format of competition
All teams will play in a round robin manner against each other.

Ranking of teams
Ranking of the players will depend on their Lichess Rating.

No league games may be played outside the Lichess Platform.
